South Bend Watch Company Factory
Note that the factory was long and narrow with lots of windows. Though the building was wired for electricity, it was often unreliable. The windows provided natural light for workers when the electricity failed.

Other Postcards
The postcard below is an artist rendering of the building. You'll note the fountains and general beautiful look of the front, which to our knowledge is not accurate. Also the building is shown to be wider in spots, but as you can see in the first postcard on this page and the one after this, it was more of a long rectangle shape.

This postcard definitely casts a bit more dreary look with the weeds and mud. Additionally, you can see there were no fountains.
